Discover the ultra-light, flexible LED strips from Adafruit, which are fitted with 480 SMT LEDs per metre. These strips are similar to neon or incandescent tubes, but do not require expensive transformers or glass bulbs. They provide a continuous, pure light source, are thinner and significantly more flexible than conventional neon tubes.
The soft, translucent silicone that serves as a diffuser creates an impressive light, encased in a sealed silicone tube that can be detached. The LED strip is encased in a weatherproof silicone tube that is strong and durable, although it is not intended for underwater use or long-term outdoor applications. It is ideal for outdoor projects, costumes, bicycle lighting and festival decorations. The self-adhesive backing makes it easy and flexible to attach.
The LED strip is 1 metre long and comes with two wires. It requires a voltage of 9V for bright lighting or 12V for very bright lighting. You can also cut the strip to size.
These LED strips are not individually controllable like 'NeoPixel' strips. A microcontroller with PWM output is required for control. This offers you an excellent opportunity to light up your projects, with the flexibility to adjust the light intensity as required.

Light comes into the dark with Adafruit NeoPixel
