We solder the DRV8833 onto a breakout board for you here, with a reverse polarity protection FET at the motor voltage input. Each breakout chip contains two full H-bridges (four half H-bridges). This means you can drive two DC motors bidirectionally, or one stepper motor. Just make sure they are suitable for a current of 1.2 A or less, because that is the limit of this chip. They can handle a peak of 2A, but that's only for a short time if you switch off the current limit we set. What we like best about this particular driver is that it has inbuilt kick-back diodes internally, so you don't have to worry about the inductive kick damaging your project or driver! You also don't have to worry about the chip burning out if overdriven as there is current limiting.
There are two digital inputs per H-bridge (one for each half of the bridge), you can control one of the inputs with PWM to control the motor speed. Runs at 2.7V-10.8V logic/motor voltage. The motor voltage is the same as the logic voltage, but logic voltage of 2.7V or greater will work, so you don't have to worry if you are powering the motors from 9V and using 3.3V logic. For higher voltages, take a look at the TB6612. For much higher voltages and currents, check out the DRV8871!
Supplied as an assembled and tested breakout plus a small strip of headers. You will need to do some light soldering to attach the header to the breakout board. Arduino, motors and power supply not included.

Light comes into the dark with Adafruit NeoPixel

Adafruit Feather Boards: Powerful hardware in a compact format
With Adafruit Feather, the hardware specialist from the States also has various powerful development boards in its range, which are essentially equivalent to an Arduino in terms of function. All of these boards are equipped with similar features; among other things, the pin assignment is the same and there are also many parallels when it comes to the microcontrollers and the battery charging properties.
