Das flexible LED-Filament von Adafruit ist ein biegsames Leuchtelement, das aus mehreren LED-Dioden auf einer flexiblen Metallunterlage besteht. Die Dioden sind mit einer farbigen Silikonbeschichtung versehen, um Schutz zu bieten und gleichmäßige Lichtverteilung zu gewährleisten.

Die Stromversorgung erfolgt mit einer Gleichspannung von 3V. Die LEDs sind parallel geschaltet, weshalb die Stromaufnahme bis zu 200mA betragen kann. Es wird jedoch empfohlen, die LEDs mit einer Strombegrenzung durch einen Vorwiderstand zu betreiben, um den maximalen Betriebsstrom auf 50mA zu begrenzen. Dadurch wird eine zu hohe Belastung der LEDs vermieden und eine verlängerte Lebensdauer erreicht.
Die elektrische Kontaktierung erfolgt an nur einer Seite des Filaments. Der Anodenanschluss ist durch eine kleine Öffnung gekennzeichnet. Sollte das Filament beim ersten Anschließen nicht leuchten, kann durch Umpolen die richtige Polarität gefunden werden.

Light comes into the dark with Adafruit NeoPixel
