Product information "CD DVD spindle motor"
This CD/DVD spindle motor is the component in a CD or DVD player that spins the disc quickly. These motors offer several advantages over the '130' hobby DC motors: they are flat at the end, easy to mount on a flat surface, well balanced and quiet. They rotate at around 3500 rpm at full power and can be PWM controlled to reduce speed.
With a maximum current consumption of 400 mA at standstill and a rated voltage of 5.9V, they are versatile. The motor already has a plastic hub so that something can be easily attached to it. A motor driver is required for control. We recommend CRICKIT for simple motor control, but the Adafruit Motor Shield for Arduino, the Motor HAT for Pi, Motor FeatherWing, L293D, TB6612 or DRV8833 are also suitable.

Light comes into the dark with Adafruit NeoPixel
One extremely popular product line from the company's broad portfolio is Adafruit NeoPixel. These nifty LED components come in a wide variety of designs and color temperatures. Adafruit Feather Boards: Powerful hardware in a compact format
