This small brushed DC motor driver is speed controllable, bidirectional and has a configurable current limit that can be increased to 1A (from 0.2A) by bridging the pads on the bottom of the board. You can use up to four simultaneously and control them independently by changing the I2C address (configurable by cutting one or both address tracks).
The DRV8830 breakout has an I2C interface and is 3.3V or 5V compatible. Like our other Pimoroni breakouts, we've designed it so that you can solder on a piece of right-angled header and then plug it directly into the bottom left 5 pins of your Raspberry Pi's GPIO header (pins 1, 3, 5, 6, 9).
It's also compatible with our fancy breakout garden, where using breakouts is as simple as plugging it into one of the six slots and starting to grow, build and code your project.
