Der Crowtail Moisture Sensor 2.0 ist ein analoger Bodenfeuchtigkeitssensor zur Überwachung von Pflanzenerde in automatisierten Garten- oder DIY-Systemen. Mithilfe zweier Metallsonden misst der Sensor den elektrischen Widerstand im Boden. Nasse Erde hat einen geringeren Widerstand und leitet Strom besser, während trockene Erde einen höheren Widerstand aufweist. Der Sensor nutzt diesen Unterschied zur Bestimmung des Feuchtigkeitsniveaus im Boden.
Im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Sensoren verfügt diese Version über besonders lange Messsonden, die tiefer in die Erde eindringen und zuverlässigere Ergebnisse in praxisnahen Anwendungen liefern. Der Sensor ist kompatibel mit 3,3 V und 5 V Systemen und gibt ein analoges Spannungssignal aus. Der Anschluss erfolgt über das beiliegende 4-Pin-Crowtail-Kabel, was die Integration in Crowtail-kompatible Mikrocontroller-Umgebungen vereinfacht.
