Elecrow Crowtail RTC module DS1307, calendar function, I2C, JST-PH 4-pin connector, 5V
Product number: CT0009RT
Product information "Elecrow Crowtail RTC module DS1307, calendar function, I2C, JST-PH 4-pin connector, 5V"
The Crowtail-RTC module is based on the DS1307 real-time clock chip and enables continuous time measurement with low power consumption. It communicates with microcontrollers via the I2C protocol and offers a calendar function for storing seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years. The module automatically adjusts the end date to months with less than 31 days, including leap years.
Thanks to its low power consumption, the module can be operated with a CR1220 battery for over a month. The JST-PH 2.0 4-pin connector ensures a stable connection and facilitates integration into crowtail or other I2C-based projects. The compact design is suitable for DIY clock projects or applications with real-time data acquisition.
A real-time clock module like this one is used to store and read out an accurate time in microcontroller projects. Communication via I2C allows data to be exchanged between the microcontroller and the module via just two lines (SCL and SDA). The RTC function allows the current date and exact time to be called up at any time, even if the microcontroller has been disconnected from the power supply in the meantime. The automatic calendar correction for different month lengths and leap years reduces the programming effort.
