Description
Product information "Elecrow Crowtail-TF Mini LiDAR, 0.3-12m measuring range, 100Hz, JST-PH 2.0 4-pin, UART, 4.5-6V, 0.6W"
The Elecrow Crowtail - TF Mini LiDAR is a miniaturised LiDAR sensor based on time-of-flight technology. It enables precise and non-contact distance measurements in real time and its compact design makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in robotics, drone technology, safety monitoring and machine control.
The sensor covers a measuring range of 0.3 m to 12 m, with a maximum range of 5 m being achieved under difficult conditions (10 % reflection). The measuring frequency is 100 Hz, the accuracy is ±4 cm in the range of 0.3-6 m and ±6 cm from 6-12 m.
Thanks to the integrated UART interface and the JST-PH 2.0 4-pin connection, the sensor can be integrated directly into crowtail and DIY projects. The connection is made via an enclosed 10 cm connection cable. The sensor works with an operating voltage of 5 V and an average power consumption of 0.6 W. The minimum object size for reliable measurements increases proportionally with the distance - at a distance of 1 m it is 4 cm, at 12 m it is 48 cm.
The time-of-flight technology measures the time it takes for an emitted infrared beam to hit an object and return to the sensor. This method allows stable distance measurement, even in changing light conditions and with different reflection properties of the objects. The sensor can be used in automated systems for height control, obstacle detection or navigation.
The TF Mini LiDAR measures distances by emitting modulated infrared light that is reflected by the target object. The time difference between transmission and reception is measured in order to calculate the distance. This technology enables fast and contactless distance measurement with high accuracy.
The sensor can be used in drones for height control, in robots for object recognition and navigation and in industrial applications for measurement data acquisition. In simple terms, the sensor detects how far away an object is without touching it by measuring how fast a light pulse travels to the object and back.
