This disc load cell (sometimes also called a strain gauge) can convert a pressure (force) of up to 200 kg into an electrical signal. Each load cell is capable of measuring the electrical resistance, which changes in response to and proportional to the load (e.g. pressure or force) applied to the disc. You can use this gauge to determine how heavy an object is, if the weight of an object changes over time, or if you simply need to determine the presence of an object by measuring the strain or load applied to a surface.

Disc load cells are slightly easier to mount than beam load cells, making them simpler to implement into a design.

Each load cell is made from a steel alloy and can read a 200kg load. These load cells have four strain gauges connected in a Wheatstone bridge formation. The colour code of the wiring is as follows: red=E+, green=O+, black=E- and white=O-. In addition, these load cells offer an IP66 protection rating.
