A photoresistor is a light-controlled variable resistor. The resistance of a photoresistor decreases as the light intensity increases and vice versa. The sensor has photoconductivity, which makes it possible to detect the light depending on the voltage and use an AD converter (analogue-to-digital converter) to convert the digital data.
We have amplified the circuit with an LM393 dual differential comparator, which compares the differential voltage between the photoresistor and the varistor. It can provide a wider and more accurate range of light intensity.
