This Pololu Sub-Micro Planetary Geared Motor is a high-precision and high-performance component designed specifically for applications where light weight and compact dimensions are critical. With a diameter of only 6 mm and a length of 14 mm, it is an excellent choice for miniature robots and other small mechanisms that require precise movements.

The motor consists of a coreless, brushed DC motor supported by a plastic planetary gearhead with a transmission ratio of 5.1:1. The coreless design of the motor reduces inertia and improves acceleration, which is particularly advantageous in dynamic applications. The entire assembly weighs only 1.2 g and enables impressive performance, making it perfect for lightweight but demanding actuators.

With an idle speed of 13,000 rpm and a maximum stall torque of 0.3 oz-in at 6 V, this geared motor is capable of fast and precise movements. Note that overloading or stalling the motor can significantly shorten its service life; therefore, the applied torque should be kept below the maximum recommended limit of 3.5 oz-in.

An operating voltage of 3 V to 6 V is intended for use. The motor typically starts at voltages from 0.2 V to 0.3 V, whereby lower voltages can affect efficiency and higher voltages can affect service life.
