Hardly any of the developers of the Raspberry Pi would have guessed at the beginning what gigantic popularity their mini computer would one day enjoy. The original motivation of the creators was to counteract the declining number of computer science students at Cambridge University. The previous knowledge among the decreasing number of first-year students was also decreasing noticeably. The remedy was to be a computer that was easy to use and as cheap as possible, with which programming could be learned in a playful way. According to the developers, young people interested in programming are reluctant to experiment with more expensive and complex home computers for fear of possible damage. In 2006, for example, a prototype was already produced with an Atmel ATmega644 microcontroller. However, the actual success story of the Raspberry Pi only began at the beginning of 2012, when the first official Raspberry Pi model came onto the market. By the end of 2019, around 30 million copies of the popular mini computer had been sold.

Behind the success is, on the one hand, the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a British foundation that is also registered as a charity. Mein Notebook-Ersatz!
Ich bin wirklich begeistert von der Performance und Leistung des Raspberry Pi 5! Ich habe ihn in ein Argon One NVMe Case eingebaut und mit zwei Monitoren verbunden – läuft absolut klasse. Für alles, was ich am PC erledige, reicht der Pi 5 mehr als aus, und mein altes x86-Notebook vermisse ich überhaupt nicht.

Klasse Wahl!
Einige Verbesserungen gegenüber den anderen Modellen. Sogar das PMIC ist einzigartig und nur bei diesem Modell verbessert wurden. Ich habe es mir 1 Tag nachdem diese 16GB-Variante veröffentlicht wurde bestellt und es kam in unter 24 Stunden per DHL (Normaler Versand) bei mir in Düsseldorf an!

Ich persönlich finde es klasse, dass nun endlich mehr RAM zur Verfügung stehen. Test nun, ob das Gerät als Alltagsgerät für mich reicht. Als Server wow mega! Benutze das Törtchen nun mit einem Pironman 5 Gehäuse, wo ein NVMe Board dabei ist für PCIe und habe das OS auf dieser laufen. Damit ist es eigentlich perfekt. Jetzt noch eine 32GB ECC RAM Version und bei mir fliegen die Xeons für immer raus. :-D
