The Grove - Infrared Emitter is used to transmit infrared signals via an infrared LED, while an infrared receiver receives the signals on the other side. An infrared LED works in a similar way to other LEDs, but emits light at a wavelength of around 940 nm. The emitter can be used to transmit data or commands or to emulate remote controls to control household appliances with an Arduino. The signal transmission range is reliable up to 10 metres. At distances over 10 metres, the receiver may no longer be able to detect the signals.
Version 1.2 of the Grove - Infrared Emitter has an optimised circuit architecture to increase the transmission range.
The Grove - Infrared Emitter can be used in various projects where wireless transmission of commands is required. Typical applications include the control of household appliances, the emulation of remote control functions and the transmission of simple communication signals between devices. The compact design and standardised Grove interface facilitate integration into DIY and IoT projects. The signal is transmitted efficiently via a specialised infrared LED.
