The Grove - Laser PM2.5 Sensor (HM3301) is a new generation laser dust detection sensor designed for continuous and real-time detection of dust concentrations in the air. The data acquisition is based on laser light scattering technology, resulting in precise, stable and consistent readings. The sensor is able to detect dust particles as small as 0.3 µm in diameter. Due to its low noise and low energy consumption, the module is suitable for use in air quality measurement systems such as air purifiers, air conditioning systems and IoT projects.
Unlike conventional pump sensors, the HM3301 uses fan blades to convey air. The air flows through the measuring chamber where it is used as a sample to analyse dust particles of different sizes in real time. The sensor can be connected via the Grove interface, enabling integration into systems with Arduino, Raspberry Pi or Seeeduino without additional wiring. Areas of application include dust detection in intelligent air conditioning systems, air purifiers, industrial analyses of particle values, real-time detection of PM2.5, PM10 and TSP as well as environmental monitoring and air quality analyses. Due to the three particle size channels (2.5 µm, 5 µm and 10 µm), measurements can be carried out in several fractions.
