Product information "seeed Grove - Round pressure sensor (FSR402)"
The Grove - Round Force Sensor (FSR402) is a pressure-sensitive module with a round force sensor at the end. This sensor utilises a force sensitive resistor whose resistance changes with the pressure applied. The stronger the pressure on the sensor, the lower its resistance. The output is analogue, whereby the output is not strictly linear. For this reason, the sensor is not recommended for precise measurements.
The sensor has an analogue output and a robust mechanical design. The durability was tested under laboratory conditions with 10 million actuations at 1 kg load at 4 Hz. This showed an average resistance change of -10 %.
The Grove - Round Force Sensor is suitable for detecting and measuring compressive forces in the range from 0.2 N to 20 N. The sensor outputs continuous analogue values. The sensor outputs continuous analogue values that allow a rough estimate of the applied force. The module is suitable for use with 3.3 V or 5 V and is connected via the Grove system, which enables easy integration into existing projects.
The module is used in applications in which pressure or touch is to be detected, for example in automotive engineering, medical systems, industrial control or robotics. The sensor can also be used to recognise user input in the education sector and in interactive toys. The compact design and analogue output interface make the module highly versatile.
