Product information "seeed Grove - Speech recognition module"
The Grove - Speech Recognition Module is designed for voice control applications and is based on the Nuvoton ISD9160 SoC with an embedded 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 microcontroller. This system-on-chip is designed for audio recording and playback with low power consumption. The module has an omnidirectional microphone that picks up sound signals evenly from all directions so that no specific direction is required.
The voice recognition module recognises 22 voice commands such as "start", "stop" or "play music". When a command is recognised, the module outputs a value that can be interpreted by connected devices such as motors or audio players. In addition, the recognised command can be repeated via a connected loudspeaker. The keyword "Hicell" is required for activation. Once this keyword has been recognised, an LED lights up red. If a valid command is subsequently recognised, the LED colour changes to blue.
The module is suitable for numerous applications in the Internet of Things, smart home, human-machine interface, lighting control, sensor networks and robotics. It is connected via a Grove-compatible interface and can be operated with 3 V to 5 V. An SPI flash memory with 2 MB capacity is integrated. The microphone sensitivity ranges from -43 dB to -37 dB with a signal-to-noise ratio of 58 dB.
In addition to the microcontroller and microphone, the control board also contains a loudspeaker connection, a Grove port, an LED for status display and the flash memory. The Cortex-M0 processor achieves a clock rate of up to 50 MHz. The typical operating voltage is 3.3 V. The power consumption varies between 25 mA and 130 mA, depending on the supply voltage and whether playback is active.
