The Grove - Temperature and humidity sensor V2.0 is based on the DHT20 sensor. The DHT20 is an improved version of the DHT11. Compared to its predecessor, the DHT20 offers greater measuring accuracy and a larger measuring range for temperature and humidity. The output is digital via an I2C interface, which makes it easier to use. The sensor has a high level of accuracy with a temperature tolerance of ±0.5 °C and a humidity tolerance of ±3 % RH at 25 °C.
The extended measuring range extends from 0 to 100 % relative humidity and from -40 to +80 °C for temperature. The digital output signal and the I²C communication interface enable easy integration into various systems. In addition, the sensor is fully calibrated at the factory and offers good long-term stability and a fast response with simultaneous immunity to interference. It supports a wide supply voltage range from 2.5 V to 5.5 V DC.
The DHT20 is a cost-effective sensor for the digital measurement of temperature and humidity. By integrating a special ASIC chip, an improved MEMS capacitive humidity module and a standard temperature measuring element on the chip, it offers robust properties, even under more demanding environmental conditions.
