Product information "seeed Grove - Turbidity sensor v1.0"
The Grove - Turbidity Sensor v1.0 is used to measure the turbidity of water, i.e. the amount of suspended particles in the water. The optical measurement is carried out using a TSW-10 type sensor, which determines the density of turbid water and the concentration of foreign particles using the refraction of light between the phototransistor and diode. The amount of light received by the sensor is determined by an optical system consisting of a light source and receiver. The turbidity level is calculated based on the light transmission of the water.
The sensor supports analogue and digital output signals. The output type can be switched directly on the circuit board using an integrated A/D switch. The module also has a potentiometer for setting the sensor sensitivity. Power is supplied via 3.3 V or 5 V DC. The sensor is equipped with a standardised Grove connection and can be directly integrated into Grove-compatible platforms.
The module is used to determine the particle density in liquids. Applications include monitoring water quality in environmental systems, industrial process control and household appliances such as dishwashers to determine the level of contamination. The optical detection method allows continuous monitoring of turbidity and thus an assessment of water purity or the need for further cleaning cycles.
The sensor can be flexibly adapted to different application scenarios. The ability to switch between analogue and digital output and the adjustable sensitivity allow it to be used in systems with different requirements. Integration takes place via the Grove standard, which allows simple connection without soldering.
