This SparkFun_CO2 humidity and temperature sensor is equipped with the next generation SCD41 photoacoustic_{CO2 sensor}, which provides highly accurate environmental readings. The SCD41 utilises Sensirion's PASens photoacoustic measurement system^® photoacoustic measurement system from Sensirion, which combines narrowband IR light and a microphone in the sensor housing and can detect concentrations from 0 to 40000 ppm with a high accuracy of 400-5000 ppm ±(40 ppm+5%). The SCD41 has an integrated CMos^® Temperature and humidity sensor to increase accuracy. For added accuracy, the SCD41 can also measure ambient pressure! All of these features are included in our standard 1in. x 1in. Qwiic form factor and can be seamlessly integrated into your Qwiic-based projects. However, we have routed the I2C signals to a series of pins 1.5cm apart for users who prefer a soldered connection.

The SCD41 has an automatic self-calibration routine that allows it to automatically adjust to its measurement environment over a seven-day period. For best results, Sensirion recommends measuring in "fresh air" for at least one hour per day to complete the calibration. This version of the SCD4X sensors also has a one-shot measurement option for optimal reduction of power consumption.

We have written an Arduino library that makes reading CO?, humidity and temperature very easy. It can be downloaded via the Arduino Library Manager: Search for 'SparkFun SCD4x', or you can find it in the Documents tab above.
