Monitoring of entrances and exits
The SwitchBot sensor allows you to precisely monitor movements around the entrance and internal doors. The device recognises when residents leave the house and when they approach, enabling the automatic activation or deactivation of electrical devices based on their presence. The detection range is up to 5 metres (90° horizontal and 55° vertical). This optimises energy consumption and increases security by alerting you to unexpected entries or exits ? including unwanted people.
More with the app
When connected to the SwitchBot app and the SwitchBot Hub Mini, you will receive smartphone notifications for any event, such as window or door openings. The ability to check the status of your home from anywhere provides control and peace of mind, especially for families with children or pets.
Voice control
Once configured with the SwitchBot Hub Mini, the sensor offers integration with various external services. This allows you to enjoy voice control and remote control via a smart speaker and smartphone. Voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home will inform you of any door or window opening, and additional functions such as light and motion sensors are available via IFTTT.

Of course, the SwitchBot Curtain can be embedded into an existing SwitchBot ecosystem without any problems. However, the SwitchBot Hub Mini is required for this purpose. The module serves as a smart home control center and is controlled with an IR remote control. To get started, the Hub Mini simply needs to be connected to a router via WLAN; automations can then be generated via the app.
By the way: If you are a Homebridge user, you can integrate your SwitchBot Curtain - as well as all other smart home modules of the manufacturer - into your Apple HomeKit environment. To do so, you just need to install the corresponding plugin via the Homebridge Config UI interface. You can also use SwitchBot's devices in conjunction with the open-source Home Assistant smart home platform.
