The Waveshare 7.3 inch E Ink Spectra 6 full colour e-paper display enables a colourful and energy-saving display. It uses E Ink Spectra 6 technology, which offers high contrast, saturated colours and high resolution. The display does not require a backlight and retains the last displayed content even without a power supply. Thanks to the high viewing angle stability, the display remains visible from almost any perspective.

The display supports various applications, including price tags, shelf labels and industrial measuring devices. It is controlled via an SPI interface and is compatible with Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, RDK X3, Arduino and STM32. It operates with low power consumption, as energy is only required during image change. The e-paper technology uses microcapsules with charged colour particles that are controlled by electric fields to generate the display.

It is specially designed for use in price tags, shelf labels and industrial instruments, but can be used in many other areas. Thanks to the passive reflective technology, the display is easy to read in natural light and requires virtually no energy in standby mode.

E-paper displays utilise microcapsule electrophoresis technology. This involves suspending charged particles in a clear liquid, which move along the sides of the microcapsules when an electric field is applied. This makes the microcapsule visible by reflecting ambient light - similar to traditional printing paper. E-paper displays can display images and text clearly under lamplight or natural light, do not require backlighting and offer almost a 180° viewing angle. Due to the paper-like effect, these displays are often used in e-readers.
