The ESP32-S2 TFT Feather features a Feather mainboard consisting of an ESP32-S2 WiFi microcontroller and a 240x135 pixel TFT colour display. All this, and it can even be built into a breadboard, terminal block wing or Feather Doubler, or even simply stacked on top of another wing.

This Feather comes with native USB and 4 MB Flash + 2 MB PSRAM, making it perfect for use with CircuitPython or Arduino with low-cost WiFi. Native USB means that it can function like a keyboard or drive. WiFi means it's great for IoT projects. And Feather means it works with the large community of Feather Wings, making it expandable.

The ESP32-S2 is a highly integrated, low-power 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi system-on-chip (SoC) solution that now also features native USB as well as some other exciting new technologies such as time-of-flight distance measurement. With its state-of-the-art power and RF performance, this SoC is the ideal choice for a variety of application scenarios related to Internet Of Things (IoT), wearable electronics and smart homes.

Please note The Feather ESP32-S2 has a single-core 240 MHz chip, so it is not as fast as dual-core ESP32s. There is also no Bluetooth support. However, we are excited about the ESP32-S2's native USB interface, which opens up many possibilities for advanced interfaces! The ESP32-S2 mini module we use on the Feather has 4MB of flash and 2MB of PSRAM, so you can cache huge JSON files for parsing!

The colour TFT is connected to the SPI pins and uses additional pins for control that are not found on the breakout pads. It has bright colours when viewed from any angle. The backlight is also connected to a separate pin, so you can turn the backlight up and down as desired.

For low power consumption, the Feather has a second AP2112 regulator. The controller is controlled via a GPIO pin on the enable line and can switch off the power to the Stemma QT port and the TFT. There is also a separate power pin for the NeoPixel which can be used to switch it off for even lower quiescent current consumption. When everything is off and in deep sleep mode, the TFT spring consumes about 100uA of current.
