Components are the foundation of every electronic device, including your Raspberry Pi. They are the smallest, no longer divisible unit in a circuit. Depending on your needs, there are different types of components with which you can individually equip your Raspberry Pi or replace defective parts of your computer or other electronic device.

Passive and active components: The backbone of your Raspberry Pi

Basically, a distinction is made between active and passive components. While active components exert a certain amplifying effect on a signal and can be controlled from an external side, passive components do not have such a control function.
