Product information "seeed Grove - Gas Sensor (MQ5)"

Seeed Grove - Gas Sensor (MQ5)
The Grove - Gas Sensor (MQ5) is used to detect combustible gases such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas or town gas and is suitable for applications in the field of gas leak detection in domestic or industrial environments. The sensor is based on the MQ5 gas detector and offers a fast response time and high sensitivity. The sensitivity can be adjusted via an integrated potentiometer.

The sensor detects various flammable gases and outputs the corresponding measured values via the Grove-compatible interface. The values can be analysed using a microcontroller or a development platform such as Arduino. The sensor is designed for stable long-term use. Stable measurement performance over a longer period of time is guaranteed by the internal design.

The module is suitable for use in safety-critical projects where rapid detection of flammable gases is required. It can be installed in room monitoring systems, gas detectors or industrial control systems. Thanks to its compact design and simple Grove interface, the sensor can be integrated directly into existing systems.

The product enables the continuous detection of gas concentrations in the air and reports increased values via the digital or analogue output interface. The adaptability of the sensitivity allows calibration to different ambient conditions or specific gas types. The electrical connection is made via the Grove port, which enables simple integration without soldering.

Plastic water solenoid valve - 12V - 1/2" nominal
Control the flow of liquid with the flow of electrons! This liquid valve would be a great addition to your robotic gardening project. There are two outlets with 1/2" (nominal non-taped National Pipe). Normally the valve is closed. When 12VDC is applied to the two terminals, the valve opens and water can push through. The valve has a sealing arrangement inside, so a minimum pressure of 0.02 Mpa (3 PSI) is required. Also, the fluid can only flow in one direction. We have tried this solenoid at various DC voltages and found that we can actuate it at 6 VDC (although it opens a little slower). Here is the table of current consumption for different voltages. We suggest a TIP120 or N-channel power FET with a 1N4001 kickback diode to drive it from a microcontroller pin. Our 9V 1A or 12V 1A power supplies are suitable for the power supply. If you want a more powerful water valve, we also have a brass version that requires no minimum pressure and can be used with fluid flow in both directions. Voltage Current 6V 160 mA 7V 190 mA 8V 220 mA 9V 240 mA 10V 270 mA 11V 300 mA 12V 320 mA These magnets are not suitable for use with food or anything other than water.
