Grove - NFC is based on the PN532 module and enables contactless communication at 13.56 MHz. It supports the ISO14443 type A and type B protocols as well as the I2C and UART communication interfaces. The maximum operating distance for detecting NFC tags is 28 mm and depends on the antenna size. The standard communication interface is UART. An independent PCB antenna is included and can be positioned outside a housing to facilitate project design. NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short-range radio technology used in access control systems and mobile payment systems, among others. This module enables the reading and writing of 13.56 MHz tags or data transmission between two NFC modules.
The module can be used in various applications such as access control systems, electronic business cards or smart home projects. It is used via the Grove-compatible plug-and-play interface, which simplifies integration. The choice between UART and I2C allows flexible connection to various host systems. Manual modification of the solder connections is required to use I2C.
The Grove NFC module is suitable for wireless communication over short distances, for example for reading and writing NFC tags or for data transfer between devices. The radio link operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. The module communicates either via UART or I2C, with UART being the default interface. The supplied antenna can be routed externally, which creates design flexibility for project integration.
