The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P. It has 14 digital input/output pins (6 of which can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analogue inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power socket, an ICSP header and a reset button. It contains everything necessary to support the microcontroller; simply connect to a computer with a USB cable or start with an AC-DC adapter or battery. You can experiment with your Uno without worrying too much about mistakes - worst case scenario, replace the chip for a few dollars and start over.

Arduino: The all-rounder among IoT platforms
Hardly any other platform offers makers such a high-quality and versatile software and hardware package as Arduino. The success story begins in 2005, when the two passionate IT people Massimo Banzi and David Cuartielles develop the first Arduino, in Italy, and immediately hit the bull's eye. Within three years, no less than 50,000 copies of the compact single-board computer were sold, after which dozens of other Arduino models followed and also became top sellers. In the meantime, the platform has long since achieved cult status among hobby tinkerers.
One important reason for its success is that the hardware modules are extremely versatile and flexible thanks to their numerous inputs and outputs. Whether you want to control displays or motors, or take measurements using sensors: Arduino always has the ideal hardware component in stock.
By the way, contrary to what is often claimed, Arduino boards cannot be used as a replacement for the Raspberry Pi, because unlike the mini-computer with the raspberry, the Arduino is dependent on an external computer. However, depending on the project, an Arduino board can be used in combination with a Raspberry Pi.
