The PicoBuck LED driver is a cost-effective and easy-to-use driver that allows you to control and cross-fade three different LEDs on three different channels. By default, each channel is driven at 330 mA; this current can be reduced by applying either an analogue voltage or a PWM signal to the board. Version 12 of the board adds a solderable jumper that can be closed to increase the maximum current to 660mA. The new voltage regulator has also increased the rated voltage of the various components on the board so that it can be used up to the full 36V rated voltage of the AL8805 component.

Three signal inputs are available for dimming control. You can use the PWM signal from an Arduino or your favourite microcontroller to dim each channel individually, or you can tie them all to the same PWM for simultaneous dimming. Dimming can be done by analogue voltage (20%-100% of maximum current by varying the voltage from .5V-2.5V) or by PWM (as long as the PWM minimum voltage is less than .4V and the maximum voltage is greater than 2.4V) for a full 0-100% range. There is a small jumper for each channel that allows you to increase the drive current from 330mA to 660mA. On both sides of the board there are two mounting holes for 4-40 or M3 screws. They are perforated so that they can be easily snapped off with pliers if a smaller footprint is desired.
