This is the Adafruit Feather M0 RFM95 LoRa Radio (900MHz). We call it RadioFruits, our version of a microcontroller with a "Long Range (LoRa)" Packet radio transceiver with inbuilt USB and battery charging. It's an Adafruit Feather M0 with inbuilt 433MHz radio module! Great for creating wireless networks that are more flexible than Bluetooth LE and without the high power requirements of WLAN.

This is the 433MHz radio version - We also sell an 898/915MHz version of the same radio chipset!

At the heart of the Feather M0 is an ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 processor, clocked at 48MHz and 3.3V logic, the same one used in the Arduino Zero. This chip has a whopping 256K FLASH (8x more than the Atmega328 or 32u4) and 32K RAM (16x as much)! This chip has a built-in USB port, so it has USB to serial program & debug capability built in without needing an FTDI-like chip.

To make it easy to use for portable projects, there is a port for a 3.7V lithium polymer battery and a built-in charging function. You don't need a battery, it will run without one directly via the micro USB port. But if you have a battery, you can take it with you and then connect it to the USB port for charging. The Feather automatically switches to USB power when it is available. We have also connected the battery via a divider to an analogue pin so you can measure and monitor the battery voltage, to detect when you need to recharge.

This Feather M0 LoRa radio utilises the extra space left to add an RFM9x LoRa 868/915 MHz radio module. These radios are not suitable for transmitting audio or video, but they work quite well for transmitting small data packets when you need more range than 2.4 GHz (BT, BLE, WiFi, ZigBee).

Our initial tests with default library settings: over 1.2mi/2Km line of sight with wire quarter wave antennas. (With modified settings and directional antennas 20km is possible).

Comes fully assembled and tested, with a USB bootloader that allows you to quickly use it with the Arduino IDE . We also include some pin headers so you can solder it in and plug it into a solderless breadboard. You will need to cut and solder a small piece of wire (any solid or stranded core is fine) to create your antenna .
